A natural and energetic performer, the next move was to form a band with a couple of friends and make inroads in to the live scene. It was only around a year ago that he started performing regularly around his hometown of Perth, Western Australia, as well as releasing tracks online to major acclaim.
Equally at home onstage with his band or in the studio, his soulful mixture of R&B and Afrobeats has been gaining fans at every show and with every release.

The lads are all ocean lovers, hence the name. They’re fond of thinking their powerful musical sound has a voluminous saturation about it… like being swept under waves and tuning in to natural forces beyond your control. They’re regularly touring Western Australia and performing far and wide. In between gigs they can be found recording in Dave’s studio in Margaret River. A sterling performance in front of a huge crowd at Nannup Festival, plus a support gig for The Waifs in Exmouth, were two recent highlights in what has been a huge 2019 for Children Of The Tide as they create a name for themselves on the touring circuit and Australian music.

Despite having only been active for a short time, Duck Teeth have already racked up supports alongside the likes of Sly Withers and The Floors.
Current and former Tired Lion members Matt Tanner, Nick Vasey and Ethan Darnell along with Candy Guts front-man Troy Stockley re-joined with familiar creative force Dave Parkin to record the track at Blackbird studios. Drawing inspiration from acts such as Cloud Nothings, Wavves, Pixies and The Breeders; “Boring” delivers a high energy, fast paced indie-rock sonic feast ready for the devouring… kind of like solo-chowing-down on a family size pizza or two in a single sitting, only without the regret.

Drawing from the diverse cultural melange of the islands, Grace’s music fuses the tropical rhythms and dances of the slaves with psychedelic rock, afrobeat, reggae and pop.
In performance the trio conjures a bewilderingly huge sound – Grace sings over her own complex polyrhythmic bass lines to Mauritian drummer Hardy Perrine’s authentic island grooves while guitarist Jamie Searle adds a dense layer of Afro – guitar sorcery.

In late 2018 the band released their WAM Award nominated 3rd single ‘Blue’ which saw them land in at number 2 on the triple J unearthed indie charts.

The band has returned with their 2019 release titled The Carpathian Summit. The album continues from their 2016 self-titled album (Illyria) with 11 new tracks adding on to their repertoire of diverse styles and symbolic motifs. They have released two music videos/singles from the album, ‘Wilderness’ and ‘Kenopsia.’ Wilderness was featured on the Spotify editorial playlists, ‘Black & Dark Metal’ and ‘New Metal Tracks.’ Kenopsia received extensive radio play on Triple J Home and Hosed/Unearthed in Australia.
