“Cathartic, enveloping, emotional and large shoegaze.” – Nat Tencic, triplejunearthed

“We reckon Ursula is the kind of ‘supergroup’ we can get around.” – RTRFM

Ursula are the combined musical talent pool of some of Perth’s most intense and engrossing live acts, featuring Robbie Rumble (The Love Junkies) and Ashby Ranson (Pat Chow), backed by the fuzzy and intelligent bass lines of Sara (New Talk) and intensity of Tyler (Old Blood) on drums.

Co-front people Robbie and Ashby, who have both enjoyed similar tastes in music whilst circling each other in various Perth bands, have finally come together to create a sound that packs reverbed soaked guitars and haunting vocal melodies over a primal groove and garage aesthetic. The results are a familiar yet exotic take on classic 90’s shoegaze, garage and slacker rock.

The band made their first big statement in 2019 with their statement self-titled EP, knocking on the door of My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive with the hit single ‘I Don’t Mind’. The record, produced by long-term collaborator Mitch McDonald (The Love Junkies, Peter Bibby) provided a foot in the door and supports for the likes of Tigers Jaw (US) and Horror My Friend (ADL).

The band are jumping into the studio with McDonald again in early 2021 and plan to release an album later in the year.
