Amy Vee
Artist / Board Director (Listen Up Music) / Mental Health Advocate

Amy Vee is an award-winning singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Newcastle NSW, with over 20 years’ experience in the performing arts. Backed by an Honours degree in Psychology, Vee worked for over a decade as a Senior Project Officer at a national mental health organisation, Everymind. Her accomplishments include the coordination and development of two annual youth mental health arts-based events, and facilitating a partnership with national charity Entertainment Assist to support the mental health and wellbeing of Australian entertainment industry professionals through research and policy development. 

She has also consulted nationally on a range of creative projects, including documentaries, plays, film and television shows that incorporate stories of mental illness or suicide and helped to develop and disseminate national guidelines on the portrayal of these issues in mass media. She has been a guest speaker and performer at the International Arts Health Conference, been interviewed on Channel 10’s Studio 10 about music and mental health, and was personally named in NSW Parliamentary Hansard for contributions to projects that link the arts with youth mental health. Vee is currently studying a Masters of Mental Health.
