Drew Goddard
Barefoot Bands

Drew Goddard has been involved in the music industry for 20 years, in a multitude of capacities, but predominantly as the guitarist/song writer/co- producer for Perth’s acclaimed progressive rock export Karnivool. Over the years he has been actively involved behind the scenes in the live arena, stage managing and site work at festivals, as well as driving and guitar tech duties for a plethora national and international artists
and recording and developing artists in his home studio.

His love for music and people skills has taken Drew into many regional WA and NT remote areas as a music mentor through his partnership with Brenton Meynell under the “Barefoot Bands” monicker, and partnering with WAM’s for their ‘Demos Of Northern Goldfields’ recording project that took place at Hoover House, Gwalia in 2017.

Prior to this project Drew had travelled to Leonora and the surrounding towns, building relationships within the local communities with his father Dave Goddard and his independent facilitation work through Simpson Norris Pty Ltd.

The foundation was laid for the success of this WAM project, which in turn provided the catalyst for 3 of the participating Leonora songwriters to form the band ‘Tapping Stickz’. A fully fledged touring and recording outfit, whose natural ability, commitment and self determination to take their country, blues and rock stylings to a wider audience, secured them an invitation to perform at the 2018 WAM Fest at Perth’s newly opened Yagan
Square and a request shortly after to support Karnivool at one of their three sold out Rosemount Hotel Shows.

Drew’s mentoring work, people skills and interest in indigenous music and culture has trickled into the Karnivool beast as the band recently invited the band SouthEast Desert Metal from the remote Central Australian community of Santa Teresa to join them as the main support act for their 2019 Australian ‘Praxis. Tour’.

in 2019 Drew was invited for the 3rd year running to attend the annual Bush Bands Bash music industry conference at Ross River near Alice Springs as a Mentor. This year he also also collaborated with the UK’s Coldplay on their song “Arabesque” from their ‘Everyday Life’ album.

These days Drew bases himself in Coolgardie, where he continues his work with Barefoot Bands and other musical and recording projects.
