Kylie Thompson (FCPA) is the Principal of Sorrento Strategic Music Specialist Taxation Advisory Practice to the music industry. With over 30 years’ experience within this sector, Kylie is a passionate advocate for artists, championing their ability to create a sustainable music career financially whilst protecting their personal wellbeing and mental health.

Kylie devotes a significant portion of her personal time and resources to the industry as demonstrated by her positions as Treasurer of West Australian Music (WAM) & WA Strings Attached Guitar Festival, WA CPA Divisional Council. You will regularly find Kylie on Industry Panels & sponsoring events such as Sound States, Champagne Agency’s Gig School, Propel Youth Arts, WOMPP, WAM Song of the Year & WAM Awards, Bigsound WA Artists. She is particularly proud of working for the AIR Women in Music Mentorship Program where Kylie not only delivered a Financial Literacy Workshop but is also an Assessor & Mentor.

She has devoted a significant proportion of her time to ensuring she has maximised the available grants and allowances that have been made available for musicians to alleviate the burden of financial hardship where she can, and pave the way for them to do what they do best. Create art.
